From my feedback in the crit, my first idea for the logo was too feminine and needed to more manly. As this is the main target audience however girls could wear the clothes as well.
from looking at the logos on my own clothes my favorite ones are Only, Obey and Patagonia, i feel i should combined the modern bold typeface and look of Only with Patagonia natural and hand rendered look.
i started of my looking in to typefaces and mainly looking at sans serif fonts as i feel they look more manly and bold. i look at helvetica, Gills and DIN i also looked at some serif fonts just incense.
i played around with the layout and find a that having 'ANY' on top of flannel looked ok however it looked strange with a small work at the top and a long word at the bottom. So i decided to change the spacing between 'ANY' so i it would be across the word 'FLANNEL' and it came out really well and looks good was still clear to read and as ANY. I continued to play around with the type i found DIN and Helvetica both looked good so i decided to put them together to see how it looked and it came out really well. It was modern bold and clear. i put Helvetica in Bold Oblique as i thought it looked good having different to the straight DIN typeface.
i then started to create an image similar to Patagonia logos however i didn't want it to look the same. i remembered that the clothing was from recycled Flannel shirt, when i think recycled i think of green with then made me think of trees so decided to give that a go and make a silhouette of trees and it came out really well you could see it was trees but was really simple and looked hand rendered. i want that hand rendered look as the the t shirts are hand made to link with that. Then placed the type with it and it looks great really happy with it and it looks more manly and i actually prefer this logo to my first one.
