The brief is given to you at the very start of the project.
The brief contains all the information you need to know about the task, its
important to read though it and understand what is needed to be done to pass
the project. When working though the project always refer back to the brief to
check if you’re meeting each requirement.
Once you have identified what’s needed to be done the next
step is researching. Research can be primary and secondary the differences
between them are. Primary can involve questionnaires, surveys or photos take by
your self and secondary research is the Internet or publication. Research is a
must when working on a project research should inform your ideas.
From the research you have gathered you should then begin to
start sketching some ideas. These can be rough sketches with just a pencil or
pen. This is just to get the ideas in your head on to paper so you don’t forget
them, the more ideas the better. Write description next to them so you know
what you have and why you have done them.
Feedback is one of the most important parts and will help
you thought out the project, feedback is a change to talk to your peers, teachers
or clients about your work and get there opinion on your work and see if you
need to make changes or if your going down the right path. It’s also a great
chance to ask them question about your work if you unsure about certain parts. Remember
it’s important to do this through out the project not just once.
From your peer or teachers feed back you should then start
to develop your ideas. To develop your ideas you could begin to look at stock,
type, colour and layout. A great way to do this is start to experiment with
your ideas on the computer, on the computer you are able to try lots of
different layouts and you have hundreds of colours and typeface at a click of
button so can try different variation.
When you have your final design check that is all ok, if
your on the computer check that’s it all ready for print, make sure all the
photos and typeface you used are all package together are in the same folder so
that’s not a problem when printing the final produced. Check for spelling
errors, sizes and make sure your using the right sock you want for the print. Always
go through your work and tripe check every little detail to make sure
everything is ok.
