The key was the main part of the menu it need to be clear and simple for people to understand, so start of with a circle coloured with the first letter of the spirt in it. I liked the coloured circle but not the letter as i thought i could make it even more simple. So i decided to fill in the circle and it came out really well simple and easy to understand and also colours should be able to seen in low lighting.
From my ideas my favroite one was have a double page spread for each day of the week and have the name of the day at top spread across both pages. The reason i did this is one make the menu spread across a double spread but it also how you would say the days in the week e.g. MON DAY, TUES DAY.
The layout of the text came from my ideas in studio brief 03 my final booklet and also a magazine i looked at, the layout is simple with lots of white space it makes the page not look busy or look like it had too much information or text on it.
The typeface i went for was century gothic because it slim, modern and clear. i wanted a text was modern because dirty martini is aimed at young adults and it would also fit with the modern look of the bar. I tried a number of different fonts like Didot, Futura and Helvetica however they were to bold or the letters were to close to together
The front and back cover i wasn't sure how to have so decide to kept it similar to the rest of the menu central, simple and clear straight to the point and not busy. The front cover is also similar to the original Dirty martini menu.
