OUDG405- Studio brief 01Final Crit & Final Outcome

The feed back I got from my peers was it works well and its simple and would work well in the shop I was targeting Urban Outfitters.

My final outcome come out how I wanted them to look modern and simple and would work in a shop like Urban Outfitters.
I made I lot of decision when making my backing papers (which is in my develop on computer blog)

I wanted the backing paper to be simple and clean. The black and white colour choice keeps it looking simple and also the keeping the type small in the corner it doesn’t take away from the image and using a simple and clear font like Helvetica means its easy to read.

Overall the designs came out how I wanted them to be in this project I made a lot of changes to get my final three designs

OUDG405- Studio brief 01 Development on computer

I didn't know what one to chose from the arrows or the moths & butterfly, so decide to develop each one on the computer to see which one come out best

I started off my designing an outline of a butterfly once the outline was done; I added some marble ink I created on A3 paper and scan it in on the computer. I have used this marble effect in my summer brief. Once I created it I felt it looked boring and wouldn’t look right as backing paper for photo frame so decided not to continue with this design.

I then started to design my arrows. I found some images on Google to me create the arrows, I used the pen tool to make the arrows and used the stroke thickness to make the lines, I made three different arrow designs as I wanted to duplicate them and make patterns.

The arrows come out really well they looked how I wanted them to look simple, bold and clean not too much going on.

I then made three different sized backing paper designs, each one had a different design but used the same arrows on each one to work as a set.

I couldn’t find a photo frame I liked so decided to create a frame using the marble ink I used on the butterfly I change the colour of the ink to black white by using the tool on Photoshop.

I tried thin and thick frames I found that a thick frame looked better as it was bolder. I also tried the marble ink as the paper for the backing paper but it was taking away the simple design of the arrow as was harder to see them.

OUDG405- Studio Brief 02 Task 1 Group 3

For this task we was in groups of 4 and we had to redesign a company. We got Enterprise Insurance company PLC, We started of by doing some research we found out that the company is from Gibraltar, we looked at the flag i found that the flag has a key in it so decided to use a key as a logo. we also designed a landing page and a home page for there website we used the colour red a lot as the Gibraltar's flag is red. We made the redesigns more modern.

OUDG404- Task 5

Negative space in Graphic Design.

The Brief:

After looking at the examples of ‘negative space’ both in typographic terms and even in photographic terms the
workshop is to choose a word i.e. HALT (Typographic) Upper or lower case and see what element you can add to use
with or replacing the identified space to create an image suggested by the chosen word/element.
Within the time available, you may render this in any way you choose, if you wish to Mac up, and you feel you
have time, go for it otherwise by hand if it suits you as a creative.

Negative space can be really simple it doesn't have to be complicated. I chose the word gun and used parts or guns and also bullets. I will try and use negative space in other projects i think it looks and is very simple it would work well for logos.

OUDG405- Studio brief 01 Development

From my crit feed back and also more research i have look at i have started to develop my arrows and i have also started to look at moths, moths are a popular tattoo to get my they also have patters and also are geometric. The moth ideas look interesting and would look good as backing paper for a photo frame, i have the idea when trying this in photoshop to make it look vintage by applying an effect to it.

I also like my arrow designs i like the white space it create around them and look simple and different and would also look good on the backing paper in a photo frame, have the arrow lined up looks really clean and simple.

i am going to try and create these to different designs and see which one come out best as i like them both.

When laying out my arrows on the paper backing i want them to lined up next to each other  showing the difference between each arrows and it also looks nice when interesting object are lined.
