OUDG403 studio brief 01- research

I used my mind map to help me research and collect images that related to my word 'Active'. I collected images of car lights, rivers, sport equipment, people moving and also look at sport logos, i used the internet and books to find images, The books i used are 'The a-z of visuals' by John Ingledew and '100 ideas that changed graphic design' by Steven Heller & Veronique Vienne.

In my research i found that one of the ways to show movement and speed was to use lines. The lines turned a still image into moving one a simple design but it works, the lines have been used in sport logos and also IBM do a similar thing with lines that i will try and recreate with my typefaces. Another way for creating an active typeface is to use people or shapes of people in sport positions like running, Also looking at rivers and the meanders in a river could be good to create a typeface that flows and moves like a river would.

Next i will start creating ideas from my research.
