My final
book came out really well, its clear and easy to follow and read also looks
modern and colours look really nice and standouts. The biggest change to the
book I made was the front cover, the idea was to screen print the cover however
I change that idea and digitally printed it on thick gloss paper. The reason
why I change this idea is because to make the pages in the book follow the
colours needed to go white then blue I screen printed it the paper would
probably be all blue both sides I could print the blue on paper in the digital
print room but I thought that would be a waste of money if I screen printed it
and it went wrong. Also because I knew if I digitally printed it would come out
perfect and having printed on gloss means it can be taken down to the lake and
if the cover get dirty you can whip it clean, if I screen printed on mat or
gloss the ink could get damaged and come of the cover. This change to digitally
printing the cover on gloss came out really well and I am happy I made the
change. The whole book looks very modern with a lot of white space to make it
clear and easy to read and follow I printed the inside page on thing mat to
give the type, artwork and colour and really bold a crisp look. I used fishing
line to bind the book the technique was a saddle stich. The fishing line look
invisible and makes it look like it isn’t bind together which is really nice
and goes with the modern look of the book. Overall every element in book has
work well together and I am happy with the out come, doing this project has
made me more aware of type setting and layout.
